Shem Shem!
Dear Shem Shem,
Seeing you being water baptised makes me look back at the very day I was baptised! Shem is a filial son to Noah, albeit in a very funnny way (check out Genesis 9). May you be the most filial son to your parents as well as your heavenly father, who will be well pleased with your obedience. In summary,
- Baptism is an act of obedience
- Baptism is an act to identify with Jesus.
- Baptism is an act to proclaim Jesus publicly.
When you say yes to the last question, you’re now part of the club! This is not just a covenant between you and God, for you’ve signed yourself to be accountable to the rest of the brothers and sisters who went ahead before you and likewise we’re accountable for you!

Happy Spiritual Birthday! The first time I saw you with us was during Project Paintbrush last year and today you’re already an indispensible member of the NS ministry! We were fellow caregroup members once after all..all the more I’ve come to appreciate you as a good friend and brother in Christ!
